The 79^th Independence Day, a day of national pride & remembrance was celebrated with fervor at St. Peter’s School & College on 15^th August. The school premises was adorned with tricolor decorations, creating a festive atmosphere. The event commenced at 8:00 a.m. with the flag hoisting ceremony. In the presence of the gleeful gathering, our chief guest, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey (Joint Secretary, Feroze Gandhi Management) hoisted the national flag. Our principal Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza accompanied our chief guest during the flag hoisting and all present sang the national anthem with respect and patriotism.

A soulful prayer, prayer song and prayer dance were presented to invoke blessings for the nation and its citizens. This was followed by a warm heartfelt welcome address and presenting a bouquet of flowers by our honourable principal Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza to our esteemed chief guest.

Students sang soul-stirring patriotic songs, evoking a sense of national pride. Dances depicting the diverse culture, heritage of India and spirit of nationalism were showcased too. A skit themed “Operation Sindoor” added color to the programme. Speech highlighting the significance of Independence Day and sacrifices made by freedom fighters was delivered by Srejal Jain of class 10-C. Anany Tiwari of class 10-C on this momentous occasion pronounced the thought for the day. Syed Ashtar Naqvi of class 10-C and Aliza of class 10-D, compere of the programme ensured the going on of the programme smoothly and systematically.

The motivational speech on this auspicious occasion was delivered by our esteemed principal Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza and inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of freedom & unity was delivered by our chief guest Dr. Sanjay Kumar Pandey too.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Niharika Mishra of class 11-B being followed by the school anthem. This Independence Day celebration at St. Peter’s School & College was a resounding success, fostering a sense of patriotism and unity among students and staff.
