Tribute to our Teachers
St. Peter’s School & College celebrated Teachers’
Day with grandeur. September 5 commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan, a renowned teacher, a philosopher, a scholar and statesman and
the death anniversary of Mother Teresa who served the poor, cared and nursed
the sick with love and affection. This day was celebrated with great enthusiasm
to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our teachers in shaping the
future of students and to express gratitude to teachers for their hardwork,
dedication and commitment. The programme was held in the school quadrangle
which was decorated with balloons, flowers, banners and festoons. The teachers were
dressed decently and the students attended the programme in school uniform.
The students gave a warm welcome to the principal Rev.
Fr. Jacob, Headmistress Rev. Sr. Susheela Remy, Ex Headmistress Rev. Sr.
Antonette and the teachers by applying ‘Tilak’ and then, the school cabinet
escorted the dignified guests, Prinipal, Headmistress, Ex. Headmistress and the
teachers to the quadrangle, the place of celebration. The programme began at
sharp 8:00 a.m. with lighting of the lamp being followed by the prayer service
led by Rev Sr. Priya and the prayer dance. The Principal Rev. Fr. Jacob, Rev.
Sr. Shusheela Remy, a few teachers and a few students from the senior section
and the Junior Section offered flowers to pay homage to the portrait of Dr.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and Mother Teresa. Riddham Srivastava on behalf
students expressed gratitude towards the teachers in his speech.
Students performed cultured activities like dances,
song etc. On this special occasion the principal Rev. Fr. Jacob in his speech
lauded the sincere efforts of the entire staff for their exemplary
contributions to the schools phenomenal success.
Bharat Vikas Parishad representatives Dr. Amita
Khubele, Mr. Gajanand Khubele, Mrs. Nisha Singh and Mr. C.P. Singh participated
actively in the programme. They honoured the students- Niharika Mishra for
excelling in academics, Sakshi Shukla as an all-rounder, Ayush Verma for being
the best in sports and Mr. Ashish Srivastava on of the senior teacher.
Thought for the day was an outstanding one befitting
the occasion.
The programme ended with expression of gratitude by
Mrs. Rekha Srivastava being followed by the National Anthem. Finally, after
taking praises from the teachers, the students said good bye to the teachers at
11:50 a.m. This memorable celebration not only strengthened the bond between
teachers & students but also emphasized the importance of education in
society. Overall, Tecahers’ Day served as a reminder of the vital role teachers
play in nurturing and guiding students towards success.
